ADRMS (Windows server 2008 R2)

Active Directory Rights Management Services for windows 2008 AD Server.

Active directory rights management services

ADRMS is a service of an AD windows server 2008 R2 or later which is used to apply the security on the Microsoft programs in the network. This is the security of the database that manages and centralized all the security along with certificate services in 1 ADRMS server.

The system administrator or anyone owner of the file can apply the security on the other users or groups from anyone client machine or server machine. We can only secure Microsoft office, Microsoft SharePoint services, ms exchange server, ms lync server etc.

How can we configure ADRMS?

Open server manager > Add roles > Select ADRMS> Next > Create a new ADRMS cluster >Use windows internal database on the server > Enter the service user a/c > Add the service user account > Create the user account & add the member (domain Admins & enterprise admin) > Use ADRMS centrally manage key storage.
Next > Next > Enter full computer name > Create a self signed certificate > Next > Next > Next > Next
Install and close > Log off and login again through administrator > Start administrative tools > ADRMS
