Today, I want to share about the health benefits of the spice called Garlic. Garlic, that consisting such wonderful medicinal properties. It has many benefits, because no other plant has been held out for long as a cure for many human ailments. This simple ingredients has health benefits as treatment of common cold, skin boils, increase love-making ability, joint pain relief, control high cholesterol, lower high blood pressure, liver disorders, alcohol induced liver injury, control diabetics, cancer, etc. But remember, it is one of the worming food as per Indian culture.
Scientific name Allium sativum, commonly known as Garlic is a species in the onion genus. It has a long healing history throughout many cultures for more than 7000 years. The composition of the bulbs is approximately 84.09% water, 13.38% organic matter, and 1.53% inorganic matter, while the leaves are 87.14% water, 11.27% organic matter, and 1.59% inorganic matter. - source: wiki
The single Garlic bulb that is very rarely available in the market is the main target product is mostly used as medicine. If you don’t get this one, you can use the commonly available Garlic in food market. The older it ages the more effective it is.
Crushed or chewed Garlic yields allicin, an antibiotic and anti-fungal compound that is Anti- viral, anti-bacterial, it promotes the growth of your white blood cells.
You need to chew one or two raw single piece (a peeled garlic clove unit) from a Garlic bulb before going to sleep. During the time of chewing; it generates lots of heat and you may not resist that heat. Alternatively you can take boiled clove units. Remember to chew with warm water or milk and then swallow. Chewing is important because your liver will digest it easily otherwise it produce gas and you know the after effect ... milk shall help you to get rid of bad garlic smells from your mouth.

Use of Garlic in Joint Pain:
It also prevents joint pain decongests Sinuses. You can use this wonderful spice to remove joint pain by frying two-three piece in mastered oil and apply the hot mixture with gentle message in the painful area. NB. It is not a permanent treatment or solution.
Use Garlic to reduce Cholesterol:
The other benefit of this spice is it doesn't let cholesterol get stored in your blood and removes cholesterol from your body. Garlic has the ability to moderately lower our blood triglycerides and total cholesterol and reduce arterial plaque formation.
Use Garlic to control diabetics:
Garlic increases release of insulin and this way regulates blood sugar levels. Hence, it helps get control in diabetics.

Use Garlic to control Wait Gain:
Garlic helps to regulate the formation of fat cells in our body. This way it helps prevent wait gain and reduce wait.Use Garlic to prevent Heart Attack:
Garlic may prevent heart attack. You will wonder to know that, researchers at Emory University School of Medicine found that it helps protect the heart during cardiac surgery and after a heart attack. As per Ayurveda, Garlic helps to prevent blood clots from forming, thus reducing the possibility of Strokes.Use Garlic in case of Alcohol-induced liver injury:
A person who is consuming too much alcohol or alcoholic beverages can be victim of liver injury. The researchers of Institute of Toxicology has found that Garlic may benefit to protect alcoholic or ethanol induced liver injury.Use Garlic to prevent Cancer:
Garlic and Green Chilli protects our body from cell size increasing. The Indian senior native people believes that these two spices fight against cancer and prevent this health disease. The modern research also highlights utility of Garlic in Cancer cases like lung cancer, prostate cancer, stomach cancer, rectal cancer, colon cancer and especially incidence of breast cancer among women.Other Benefits:
Garlic helps to remove heavy metals such as lead and mercury from the body. Prevent certain tumors from growing larger and reduces the size of certain tumors, can still kill some strains of bacteria that have become immune or resistant to modern antibiotics.Cons:
But I repeat, remember to have culinary quantity i.e. not to take more than one or two single unit of a garlic bulb (bunch) because, it generates tremendous heat and your body gets warmer by the time. Thus eating Garlic too many lead to night falls or risk of bleeding particularly during pregnancy. Garlic allergy includes skin rash, temperature and headaches. It also causes bad breath (you can get rid if you chew with milk and then swallow) as well as sweats to have a strong smell of garlic. It produces gas if not digested well but don’t stop for this reason, taking on a regular basis you may get habituated and there your body will start absorbing.
Lastly I would like to add that, in Indian Culture we use to avoid eating these warming foods one day in a week and keep fasting for at-least one part of a single day. That helps our body balance the digestive system and smoothing of blood circulation. If you can do this, you shall feel healthy, exuberant and stress-less.
